Mercedes AMG F1 and Scuderia Toro Rosso 2013 F1 cars to be unveiled at Jerez 4th February

It’s looking like a busy day in Jerez today  4th February with the unveiling of the Mercedes AMG F1 and Scuderia Toro Rosso 2013 F1 challengers. The Mercedes will be unveiled at 13.35 CET and the Toro Rosso at 17.30.

Nico Rosberg has already completed a few shakedown laps in the new F1W04 and Mercedes will certainly be hoping that the unveiling ceremony goes a whole lot better than the attempted twitter reveal at the weekend where the volume of tweets received and traffic generated caused the web servers to crash and stay down for several hours.

From the initial shots of the new Silver Arrow it can be seen that the pronounced step in the nose is no more and has been replaced with a very sleek aerodynamically smoothed front end. The team has also displayed the logo of Blackberry on the car announcing the start of a new sponsorship deal.

Lewis Hamilton was at Jerez early this morning and will make his first appearance with Nico Rosberg, his new team and the F1W04 at a circuit.

This week will see the new spec cars on track and will be the first time to evaluate their true potential and move on from the hype of the Formula 1 launch season.
